And so we race the storm
To the eastern shore
Where they went to downsize
And we went to wash out
In a one-hallway house
Two restless nights on the fold-out couch
While the generator
Was put through its paces
You want something beautiful
And all I want is quiet
The tide rose to meet the front door
Like Waterford crystal on the driveway
Squinting now as the call came down
But I woke up the same
You want something beautiful
And all I want is quiet
Hanging on the tangible
Before we both expire
Virginia autumn
It’s not your problem
Draw back the curtains
Was all this worth it?
Left in the morning
Days start to shorten
Back up the turnpike
I’ll see you sometime I hope

Been following Somos for many years, feeling that they had an opus in them...well, here it is. Driving pop-punk sensibilities lend an upbeat tone in contrast to the grim lyrical proceedings, and they absolutely pull it off. Evocative music that's been on repeat for me all month long.
